My Version of a Visa Commercial

Cute metal and wood keyhole heart...$1.00

My ugly painting turned treasured chalkboard...free from my Mom's house.
(If you'd like to see the before you can click here to read that post)

Red Christmas candles turned Valentine's candles...1.99 each, but basically free since I used them for two holidays...right?

Oh so stylish and uber trendy (in 1983) puffy wood hearts...50 cents at a yard sale

Turned into this...

Sweet little vintage inspired heart doodad

"Be Mine" metal envelope...50 cents at a yard sale.

Glittery puffy hearts...Dollar Tree.

My very favorite apothecary jar before my spirited toddler broke it into a million little pieces during mommy's craft time...9.99 at Ross.

New bathroom display after the tragic demise of said glass jar :

Small glass jar...$1.00 at thrift shop

Metal heart picture holder thingy...free from sister

Mosaic heart tile made by my son in 1st grade...PRICELESS!

NOTE TO SELF :
STOP decorating with candy when your toddler is absolutely obsessed with the stuff, and doesn't stop until she eats every last morsel of it!
Seriously, don't do it ever again.

I agree on "not decorating with candy with an active toddler who loves candy until its all gone" But I did like that apothecary jar a lot too. I must check out my local Ross to see if they have anything close so I can buy it too.

It all looks great! I struggle finding a classy way to decorate for Valentine's Day! My house ends up looking like a Vegas Wedding Chapel.

Everything looks great... funny thing, I used that vintage Valentine scrapbook paper this weekend on some projects.
Sorry about your broken jar. I have to watch my toddler like a hawk!

Great commercial! If I was using my credit card to buy craft supplies I would be seriously inspired to go shopping!

On another note, I have that same coffee drink machine as in the last picture by the tile you have on display. I LOVE that thing. I swear the drinks it makes are as good as Starbucks!

What great projects and decorations!!! I know what you mean about decorating with candy! I have a huge lidded glass jar and last year I filled it with different layers of candy. It was really cute, but we were eating it ALL month. So I didn't do that this year :-)

Have a great day!

Around here I have to stop myself from eating all of the candy!

I love all of your decorations, especially how budget-friendly they are!

Everything looks great. I love your $1 metal & wood keyhole heart, what a great find. But, I must say that I agree with you on that mosaic heart that your son made. It is priceless! What a sweet treasure to have.

I made the mistake of decorating with candy this year and I get "Mom, can I have a taffy?" about 500 times a day from the boys. I am beyond annoyed at it now and won't do it again for a long long time!

It looks so fun and festive. Yes...I totally understand keeping candy hidden...it creates way too much stress!

ok-crack me up! I too have a house full of candy lovers. It doesn't stop me though, i am pretty sure it is because it is so cheap.
I have found a trick though, at the end of the season, by the cany-candy corn, red and grean, conversation hearts, whatever. Put it away with your decor for next year. They might try the candy once-but they wont eat it again. Promise. Plus-it works for moms too!
So-the great green holiday is comibg up-what do you for deocr for that little holiday? I have a handful of decorations-I need WAYY more. So, I am turning to you, one of my fav. creative blogging friends! No pressure!!!

So did she try to eat the glitter hearts too? Hehehe.

I want a jar!!

Off to run errands. I am starting to bake cupcakes today! LaLa's Birthday party is on Saturday but her actual Birthday is Monday...I want to bake them and freeze them so my house is clean for the party!

Bloggy Love!

Wonderful commercial. The mosaic that your son made you is priceless. Lee Laurie of A Southern Rose is a real good friend of mine. We shop a lot together. We have stopped at the Salvation Army store on Hwy 59 just South of Hattiesburg. But you are right about Dirt Cheap! Also, there is a store downtown, thats maybe an antique/thrift store? We were riding around looking at ole houses one day and found this store by accident. It was closed and we haven't been able to get back by it yet. We did take a picture of the Volkswagan Beetle Bug, which is close by the store. The car is cut in half and it looks as if someone ran into the building. We will have to post some pics of it. Do you know anything about that store?

Cute craft re-dos and I agree the heart trivet is PRICELESS!

I don't have toddlers or kids around to eat the candy but I don't buy it because I would eat it ALL!!! lol!

Forget about my toddler eating it - I eat it all day! Love your decor and dream of having a hot chocolate thingy myself.

I'm afraid the candy would be too much of a temptation for me, much less my toddler...

Love the V-day decor! I have to admit, I'm just as bad as the toddler when it comes to the candy.

Aww man that sucks! That's why we buy cheap, eh? I keep avoiding buying those sparkly hearts at the dollar store but they are so darn cute!!

I can't decorate with candy or I'd be the one eating it all! Gosh, so many cute projects to love! I really like how you displayed your chalkboard with the candles. I always come away from your blog with great ideas. You're so crafty!
